PII-in-prompt scanner
Runs in the browser. Redact before you paste a prompt into a public model.
Catch identifiers before they hit a model
Prompts often include customer emails, phones, or ID-like strings by accident. Paste a draft prompt here to see common identifier patterns highlighted — then redact before you use a public model.
How to use the PII-in-prompt scanner
Paste the prompt text. Review any matches, replace them with placeholders or tool references, and re-scan. Clear results still need a policy check for names and case IDs.
Prompt text
What a match means
A match is a shape that often carries personal or payment data — not proof of a real account. Treat matches as redact-first, and keep live identifiers in controlled systems rather than in free-form prompts.
FAQ
What PII patterns does this scanner detect?
It looks for common identifier shapes in the text you paste: email addresses, US-style phone numbers, SSN-like ###-##-#### strings, and card-like digit runs of about 13–16 digits. It is a pattern check, not a full privacy audit.
Does my prompt leave this browser?
No. Matching runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to GoWithAgentic or to a model unless you copy the text elsewhere yourself.
Why redact before pasting into a public model?
Prompts and logs can retain personal data. Emails, phones, government IDs, and payment card numbers are high-risk identifiers. Redact or tokenize them in the prompt, and keep live PII in systems that already have access controls (CRM, vault) rather than in free-form model text.
Will a clean scan mean the prompt is safe?
No. Names, case IDs, addresses, and free-text secrets are not covered by these patterns. Still apply your retention and minimization policy, and strip fields your workflow does not need.
How should an agentic workflow handle PII?
Prefer tool calls into the CRM or vault over pasting raw PII into the model context. Log redacted traces, block unnecessary echo of identifiers, and put HITL on steps that would send personal data outbound.
Need agents that keep PII out of prompts?
GoWith agentic builds route personal data through tools and vaults, not free-form model text. See all free tools, the prompt / SOP quality checker, the LLM hallucination checklist, and the CRM hygiene checker.
